432 PATIENTS BENEFIT FROM FREE DENTAL MISSION AT HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC HOSPITAL

Techiman, Ghana — August 2026 — A total of 432 patients have benefited from a free dental mission organized by Holy Family Catholic Hospital, Techiman, in collaboration with Operation International.

The mission began with screening and booking from 9th to 31st July 2026, followed by the treatment phase from 2nd to 7th August 2026 at the hospital’s Dental Clinic.

The visiting dental team was led by Dr. Uday Mahesh Parikh, Operation International Dental Team Lead. During the treatment period, a total of 561 dental procedures and treatments were carried out for the 432 patients.

The difference between the number of patients and procedures is because some patients received more than one treatment according to their individual dental needs. In other words, 432 represents the number of people who received care, while 561 represents the total number of dental procedures performed.

Patients received a range of services, including fillings, extractions, scaling and polishing, and root canal treatment. The mission also provided beneficiaries with free toothbrushes and toothpaste, giving them the basic resources to continue practicing good oral hygiene at home.

For some patients, the mission meant finally receiving treatment for a dental problem that had been causing discomfort. For others, it provided an opportunity to have their oral health assessed and receive treatment without the usual financial burden.

The successful completion of the mission was made possible through the cooperation of the Operation International dental team and staff of Holy Family Catholic Hospital, who worked together throughout the screening and treatment periods.
